Digital readiness guide
How to assess digital readiness before buying more technology
Buying more technology does not automatically improve an organisation. A better starting point is to understand where the operating gaps are and which problems actually need solving.
Look across the whole environment
Useful discovery considers hardware, connectivity, communications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, workforce capability and business systems together. Weakness in one area can limit investment in another.
Prioritise operational impact
Ask which issues cause lost time, service interruption, avoidable risk, poor customer experience or unnecessary manual work. Those impacts usually provide a stronger basis for prioritisation than product features alone.
Separate discovery from formal assurance
An indicative readiness assessment can highlight areas that deserve attention, but it is not a technical audit, penetration test, compliance certification or formal security assessment.
Turn the gaps into a sequence
A practical sequence is: assess, research, design, source, build, connect, secure, manage and maintain. Not every organisation needs every step at once.
